The Boys & Girls Clubs of North County turned up the fun on Saturday, April 12, 2025, as they hosted their annual Great Futures Gala at the fabulous Pechanga Resort & Casino! With over 200 friends, dignitaries, and supporters packing the room, the night was nothing short of spectacular, raising nearly $200,000 to support the vibrant community of Fallbrook.
“The Great Futures Gala is our biggest bash of the year, and we’re overjoyed by the amazing support from our donors,” said Allison Barclay, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of North County. “Thanks to our incredible, loyal supporters, we can create Great Futures for our Club members!”
The night sparkled with gratitude as Platinum sponsors Jim and Jeanette Short, Bob and Susan Lucy, The Angel Society of Fallbrook, and Del Rey Avocado were celebrated for their tremendous generosity. Masterful emcee Tommy “Little Tommy” Sablan kept the energy high, entertaining guests with his charm and humor.
Club alumna and now Site Supervisor, Perla Ordonez, moved the crowd with an inspiring speech about her journey with the Club, sharing how its supportive staff helped her discover her potential, especially during her high school years. The Baile Folklorico group from the Vallecitos Site lit up the stage, showcasing traditional dances that had the audience clapping along! As the night unfolded, a lively auction kicked off, offering everything from exciting experiences to unique treasures. After the bidding wars, guests hit the dance floor, grooving to the infectious beats spun by DJ Mark Blackwell!
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Champion of Youth Award to Stephen Grimm, recognized for his unwavering commitment to the youth of Fallbrook. The Helping Hand Award went to Youngren Construction, applauded for their philanthropic spirit towards the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County. Brittany Vojak, a Club alumna and dedicated Events Committee Member, earned the Volunteer of the Year Award for her heart and hard work. New this year, the Community Partner of the Year award was presented to Lillian Perez, Director of Expanded Learning at the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District, for her invaluable support of local youth and partnership with the Club.
For over 60 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County has been the go-to spot for youth seeking friendship, fun, and personal growth outside of school. Starting in 1962 as a safe haven for boys, the Boys Club has since transformed into an inclusive hub for kids of all genders, continually adapting to the needs of the community and fostering new generations of leaders.
Today, Boys & Girls Clubs of North County serves more than 2,500 kids annually across eight vibrant sites in Fallbrook, Bonsall, and Rainbow—making it the heartbeat of youth development in the area!
